22 March is World Water Day . A date that we at Portixol Group have marked very prominently in our calendar because it is one of the areas of action in which we want to leave our own mark. The Laureate , the film chosen to close the 10th edition of the Evolution! Mallorca International Film Festival, which will premiere today at the Palau de Congressos de Palma from 7 pm, was presented to the press at the Hotel Portixol by its director William Nunez and the film's star, actor Fra Free . Set in 1920s Britain, The Laureate tells the story of the young poet Robert Grave s, who is married with four children, when he meets and falls in love with Laura Riding . Both Nunez and Fee were excited to be in Mallorca. The actor had visited the island when he was 13 and is very happy to be back. Nunez has been on more than one occasion and has even met Graves' family, who will also be attending the premiere on Tuesday. As the official hotel of the Evolution Mallorca International Film Festival , we have had the honour of being the privileged setting for the presentation of the film Pan de Limón con semillas de amapola , by director Benito Zambrano , the opening film of EMIFF 2021, which will be screened on Wednesday, 27 October, at 8 pm at the opening gala at Palma's Teatre Principal . At the press conference at the Hotel Portixol , the festival's director, Sandra Seeling Lipski, introduced the filmmaker Benito Zambrano, accompanied by the film's crew: the actors Elia Galera, Eva Martín, Mariona Pagès and Tommy Schlesser, the composer of the soundtrack, Joan Valent, and the producers Laura Fernández and Carlos Fernández. Wednesday's screening will be only the first of a series of screenings to be held at EMIFF 2021. From 27 October until 2 November, an intense week full of films, parallel activities and conferences awaits us. As Official Festival Hotel , we were proud to host the official press presentation of the 10th edition of the Mallorca International Film Festival at the Hotel Portixol. With a large media attendance, we have presented the news and the programme of the Festival that will start next October 27th and will last until November 2nd. Evolution Mallorca International Film Festival, the international independent film festival that this year celebrates its tenth edition, with a very clear mission: to unite cultures, to unite people. This year's festival features 31 national, 12 European and 27 world premieres. Of all the proposals, the programming committee has chosen a total of 135 projects from 30 countries, five more than last year. They are Holland, Russia, Macedonia, United States, Poland, Canada, Germany, Spain, United Kingdom, Brazil, United Arab Emirates, Israel, Mexico, Lithuania, Kuwait, Belgium, Austria, Norway, Peru, China, France, Iran, Switzerland, Egypt, Denmark, Costa Rica, Japan, Italy, Sweden, Greece. The screenings will take place from 27 October to 2 November. Feature films, short and long documentaries, experimental and children's short films, music videos, student shorts... A multitude of different formats make up this collection of innovative and committed works. We would like to highlight the growing 'Made in Baleares' section, which is made up of 29 screenings. This is a very special section that bears the seal of the Balearic Islands and shows the festival's commitment to the Balearic industry and professionals.
